BRANDING

All the logos given below were done as a part of college projects, not on any commercial basis.

REVAMP:

Vivekananda coffee company:

Vivekananda Coffee is a company that has been specializing roast and ground coffee powder since 1959. They have earned a good name for their product, but their logo is not as good as their product.
EXISTING LOGO
I chose to redesign the logo as many elements of the logo were repetitive, the name itself appears twice. Apart from this, there were too many unnecessary decorations like the oval and the ribbon on which the year in placed. The gradients, outer glows and the underlines on the name was way over the head.

I noticed many discrepancies in above logo. The name itself appears twice. Apart from this, there were too many unnecessary decorations like the oval and the ribbon on which the year in placed. The gradients, outer glows and the underlines on the name was way over the head. So, redisgned the logo.
REVAMPED LOGO
While redesigning the logo, the motto of the company, (to live up to the traditional filter coffee of Kumbakonam) and their target audience was kept in mind. I wanted to come up with a logo that reflects warmth of the sunrise as well Vivekananda himself.

ABC Montessori:

ABC Montessori is an international pre school based in Delhi. The pre school aims to improve the analytic and cognitive skills in children through various fun filled learning processes.

After considerate research, I came across one thing that was common to all the pre schools- they teach the children the basics of drawing and writing like shapes, colors and numbers; which would be just enough for the child to enter kindergarten.
EXISTING LOGO
Reason for redesigning the logo: The cartoon of the bear is totally irrelevant and the alphabets A, B, and C are not easy to read.
REVAMPED LOGO
The revised logo indicated the basics of learning as I have used basic shapes and colors to design the alphabets. By looking at the logo,a child must be able to pronounce the name as well as identify it with shaped and colors.

LOGO AND STATIONERY FOR DESI 101:

This is a logo designed for an Desi 101 is an imaginary merchandise store specializing is offbeat products like souvenirs, stationery, bags, scrap books, personalized greeting cards, etc. (something like India Circus and Chumbak). The tagline of the company is 'Simply Indian' - the company aims provide products that are inspired by India.

Desi 101 also conducts design contests (related to current issues) in schools and colleges inorder to encourage students  to be a part of significant happenings. People can make their own customized designs too.

The Working:

Option 1:
This option is based on the concept of Truck art. Indian trucks and lorries have unique hand painted  Bold typography and colorful visuals. Truck art is not just 'HORN OK PLEASE'. They are filled with colorful illustrations of Bollywood stars, birds, animals, while some also depict a scenery or occasion.

I Derived my inspiration for Desi alone from Truck art. Similarly, 101 was inspired by the Indian currency note.

Combining both the concepts,
OPTION: 1
Option 2:
This option is based on Indian motifs and patterns. I chose a few patterns and motifs and visual elements that signified India - elements like dots, triangles, paisleys, etc.
OPTION: 2
Apart from the dots and paisleys, The logo has finer details like the Elephant's face for E, and the sacred beads ( to cast away evil) that seem like eyes looking forward and the 101 facing to the right (going ahead/ moving forward). The red and yellow of the eyes relate to turmeric and sindhoor.

Since the first option does not relate to contemporary design, the second option became the obvious choice,

BRANDING FOR A FLORIST

Iris is a Florist Shop located on ECR Chennai. They specialize in  exotic flowers for the elite audience. Apart from flowers, they deal with gifts, soft toys, chocolates, and dry fruits.

The shop is designed in the form of a drive-way so that commuters on the highway can make a detour, collect the the gift/ bouquet and drive away. The branding had to be done accordingly.
It includes the logo, office stationery, indoor and outdoor sign boards, price tags, bags, gift wrappers, uniforms and name tags for staff, vehicle graphics and gift cards.

The logo:
LOGO
The logo was inspired by the iris flower itself. It evokes a sense of simplicity, elegance and uniqueness. The tagline 'Flowers.Gifts.Happiness' suggests that the store sells more than just flowers - the blissful moment when a person receives a gift from their beloved one.
